13 Week Bumpdate!

Hello 2nd trimester! We are officially at 13 weeks (and two days since I'm a little late on this post). But I wanted to document sweet little baby number 2's pregnancy and growth here on the blog since I kept up with Emerie's pretty regularly.
How far along: 13 weeks (and 2 days)
Weight Gain: Not sure... I haven't been weighing myself at home, I go to see the midwives next Friday. I was down a pound and a half at the last visit but judging from my growing belly I'm sure I'll be back up!
Clothes: Still wearing regular clothes, occasionally I feel so bloated that I have to use a belly band with my pants but other than that I'm still hanging in there. Hubs and I went on a road trip today (yay for date days!) and I got a few new shirts and some skinny jeans. After I told my mom about the skinny jeans she said, "you remember you're pregnant right?" and my response was that my legs aren't! I'm hoping I can make the skinny jeans work for awhile with the help of a belly band when necessary!
Skin: Okay, my stomach has started to itch because of the weather and the fact that it's expanding! Belly button is already starting to poke out, especially after a big meal. I blame Emerie, it was never the same after her! Haha!
Sleep: Crazy dreams! I wake up two or three times a night now... so sleep could be better! But thankfully Emerie is still sleeping through the night like a champ so I consider myself blessed to not have to get up at night!
Gender: Unknown!
Movement: I was kind of surprised when I started feeling the baby flutters around 12 weeks but they say that it's pretty normal to feel them earlier when it's your second pregnancy. It's nothing consistent, but every now and then I feel that sweet little reminder of the love growing in there!
Cravings: I was craving chex mix for awhile and now it's fruit smoothies and chocolate.
Aversions: beef. Yuck.
What I miss: Regular coffee. Deli sandwiches.
Workouts: This is a new update that I hope I have something to add to it next week!
Best moments and looking forward to: My mom got the baby a cute (gender neutral) pair of slippers. It was a thoughtful gift because we weren't really expecting anything for the baby. We are looking forward to hearing the heartbeat again next Friday (but I'm not rushing it because I don't want winter break to end!).
Prayer for the baby: Lord, thank you so much for this beautiful little life that is growing inside of me. Thank you for the sweet little flutters I've been feeling. I pray that you continue to watch over the development of our sweet baby's digestive system that is forming this week and that everything functions the way that you designed it. In Your name, Amen.
"I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well." Psalm 139:14

Be back soon with a Christmas update (after I sort through the 200 or so pictures!). :)

This Friday is an extra happy one because it marks the beginning of Christmas break! Yay! Linking up with Darci and friends for 5 on Friday. I'm making this one the Christmas Past edition.  :)

Christmas Past: One Year Ago
{ONE}Christmas Eve morning we met my parents and sisters and brothers-in-law at Cracker Barrel for breakfast. After breakfast we went to my parents house to exchange gifts and hang out. The past few years we've been drawing names so that we don't have to buy for everyone. Emerie opened presents and played with everyone but loved the wrapping paper and bows more than the gifts!
(playing with her uncles)
{TWO} We spent Christmas Eve afternoon and evening with hubs' family. We go to his Aunt's for some family time and then his mom's to exchange gifts with the rest of his family.
{THREE} Christmas morning our tradition is to the start the coffee and read the story of Jesus' birth from the Bible before we open any gifts. It serves as a reminder that Jesus is the real reason for the season. This was our little peanut last year listening to the Christmas story. I can't believe how tiny she was! It goes by so fast!
(I hope those photos show up in Bloglovin', they are pics from my phone so sometimes they don't!)
{FOUR} We spent Christmas day at my grandma's for a family dinner. There is always yummy food and my grandma will only make coconut pie once a year (at Christmas). Yum. I can hardly wait for this Christmas!
{FIVE} We always stop by hubs' grandma's house before heading home Christmas night. She makes tons of food so we somehow manage to eat a little more! I can't believe how small my little bug was last Christmas. Only 7 months old. She turns 19 months the day before Christmas Eve. What a difference a year makes! And next year Emerie will get to share the Christmas joy with a little brother or sister! :)

Happy Friday and Merry Christmas!

5 on Friday!

I only had to work three days this week (due to snow) but I'm still so glad that it's Friday! Linking up with Darci and friends for Five on Friday!

{ONE} In case you didn't see our super exciting news on Monday, you should check out this post! We are so happy that our family is growing. :) I'm a little over 11 weeks now and feeling pretty good... just tired a lot which is to be expected anyway... I spend my days teaching Kindergarten and my evenings loving on a sweet toddler! I'll be posting the first of the weekly bump dates next week. :)
This is my bump at 10 and a half weeks...
{TWO} With our expanding family we are going to need a bigger house! We were pre-approved for a home loan earlier this week and the house hunt has begun. We are hoping to have our house ready to put on the market at the beginning of January. I'll be emailing our realtor this weekend!
{THREE} I am a bit of a slacker when it comes to Christmas. I still haven't hung our stockings (although the tree is nicely decorated and so is our staircase banister). I also just ordered our Christmas cards last night. Eeek. It's okay, they'll be ready today! I won't even mention how much shopping I have left to do! It's not as much as this time last year. Small improvements friends. :)
{FOUR} Emerie is changing so much and I can't believe how big she is getting. She is starting to speak in sentences and phrases now and I love to listen to her talk! She makes us laugh constantly. She's going to be the best big sister!
{FIVE} Only one more week of work until Christmas break! I am so looking forward to more family and friend time!
Have a wonderful weekend friends!

Blessing #2 is on the way!

Hubs and I are so excited to finally share that we are expecting miracle number 2 around July 2! We are so blessed that God has given us another little baby. I'm almost 11 week pregnant now. We've had two appointments with the midwives (one ultrasound and one physical). Both went wonderfully. The heartbeat was strong on the ultrasound and she had no problems finding the heartbeat with the doppler last week. We have had a lot going on and coupled with extreme fatigue every evening, I haven't had a lot of energy for blogging. Thankfully the extreme fatigue is fading (as is the queasiness that I've been feeling). Both of my babies have been good to me, I didn't have much morning sickness with Emerie and I haven't with this one either. I feel kinda queasy around dinner time each evening but nothing that's not manageable. Praise the Lord for that! I can't believe we only have a week of the first trimester left. We have an NT scan sometime in the next two weeks and we are excited because the doctors can usually tell us the gender at this scan. We may have him write it down and then do some sort of gender reveal later on... We'll see! Hubs thinks we are having another girl. I don't have any strong feelings either way at the moment!
I'll be back with more updates on how we told our families. :)

So thankful for all of this

I'm still here.... doing a lot of self-reflection and praying as this Advent season begins. Spending lots of time with family. Thanksgiving and time off from work was wonderful. Before Thanksgiving break we took Emerie to see Santa but she refused to sit on his lap, and Mrs. Claus was a no go as well. :)
Oh well. There's always next year! She was a little ham at Thanksgiving dinner. My dad's side of the family gets together at my grandma's house. More family than usual attended this get together and there were more kids this year... which made my grandma super happy. She had a full house and a happy heart. :)
 Checking things out downstairs....
She kept kissing me when I was trying to take a picture with her....
So daddy joined in on the Thanksgiving kisses. :)
 Best I could get?
Time with Papa... her cousin got on his lap and she said No! My Papa!! It was hilarious and adorable.
 Hanging with Aunt Holly
Modeling the most adorable outfit that my mom bought her on Black Friday
The rest of our time off was spent relaxing, reading, watching Mickey, and hubs and I shopped a little sans toddler.
It was a nice break! We have so much to be thankful for. :)
