Random List Update

- 26 days of school,  2 work days, and I am off for the summer!!! Yay!
- We are redoing our kitchen floor at the beginning of June! Double Yay!
- We've been working outside around the house lately... clearing away brush, mulching the flower bed, rebuilding the side steps on the deck... things are looking beautiful! I'm going to get some hanging baskets for our front porch today!
- I've been finding peace lately through prayer, scripture, and church.....
- We may go hiking tomorrow after church tomorrow (which I'm excited about, I got new hiking shoes!).
- I'm loving the warmer weather but the storms have been crazy. We don't usually see tornadoes because we are surrounded by mountains, but there have been several in and around our town. Praying for those (all over the US) who have lost loved ones and suffered damage from the storms.
- One of my college roommates and her hubby had their beautiful baby boy last night... after nearly 30 hours of labor! Welcome to the world Brenden Patrick!

I am currently enjoying my spring break! We were supposed to only get Friday and Monday off but our new Superintendent asked the school board to give us Thursday (which was supposed to be a work day) off as well. The school board agreed and I am now enjoying day 2 of my 5 day vacation! It's been a rainy dreary day but I went out and had lunch with my bests. It was nice to catch up and one of the girls brought her baby with her so we got to oooh and ahhh over her. So cute! Tomorrow I am forcing myself to get up and go to Pilates at 9:30. I really do enjoy it, it's just the getting out of my pajamas, pulling myself away from my hot cup of coffee to go work out part that I have a hard time with. I'm looking forward to the next three days... only calling for isolated thunderstorms and temps in the high seventies, low eighties. We are spending Easter Sunday at my grandma's house. My dad's side of the family gets together for a big dinner... and we are celebrating my grandma's 80th birthday as well. I hope everyone has a great Easter and takes time to reflect on the death and resurrection of Jesus!!

Half Empty or Half Full?

Lately I've noticed that my attitude towards all things have changed. I used to be a glass half full kind of person... I saw the positive in the midst of negative situations. I had hope and faith and relied on God to work out the details of my life. Does that mean I was never a control freak or that I never tried to foolishly plan my own path in life? No. But I learned that I can't do it all on my own and my faith in God always got me through to the positive side of things again. Lately I've been super moody and have been a glass half empty kind of person. I haven't been fun to be around... major pessimist. There are several things that I am waiting on in life, both personally and professionally. I'm not a patient person. I hate waiting. I know that waiting is when God teaches us and I get that. Does it make it easier? Not really... I'm struggling with all this waiting and becoming bored with this complacency. I am trying to remind myself that God has a plan and His plan is perfect. I need to wait for God's perfect plan for my life to be revealed to me. But what do you do in the meantime? What do you do so that your thoughts don't consume you? So that you don't despair, but have hope instead? God revealed himself to me this week through this scripture:

So I say, “My splendor is gone and all that I had hoped from the LORD.” I remember my affliction and my wandering, the bitterness and the gall. I well remember them, and my soul is downcast within me. Yet this I call to mind and therefore I have hope: Because of the LORD’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. I say to myself, “The LORD is my portion; therefore I will wait for him.” The LORD is good to those whose hope is in him, to the one who seeks him; it is good to wait quietly for the salvation of the LORD.

New Career

Every now and then when life gets boring or monotonous, I dream up my future career... Don't get me wrong, I love teaching... it's definitely a passion of mine.... but every now and then I dream of a career that's a little less stressful... one that I don't take home with me every night. My newest dream: become a certified Pilates instructor and open Ocean Breeze Pilates... yes that's right... an oceanfront Pilates studio. Ahhhhh.... bliss. Picture yourself listening to the calm ocean waves while you stretch your muscles and tone your core. Follow your morning Pilates session with a hot mug of coffee and a nice long walk on the beach. Coming soon to a beach near you! =)

Up and Down Like The Weather

41 days of school and two work days that follow and I am freeeee for the summer! =) I cannot wait... the end of this year has been kind of stressful so I am looking forward to a summer of sleeping in, laying by our pool, and hanging out with hubs! Bring on warm weather... Monday was sooo nice... around 80 degrees and then we dropped back to 50 degrees and rainy today. My moods this week have been like the weather... up and down. =(
Nothing too excited going on this week... my day ended kind of roughly... and I came home to a sick pup... not fun to clean up after, but she is feeling better now. I did manage to go to the gym, cook dinner, grade some papers, and watch the new episode of NCIS (which left us hanging with a to be continued...).Hopefully tomorrow will be a better day! It's almost the middle of the work week friends! Hang in there!
