Lost wisdom

Sorry for the lack of posts this week but I have been spending time with family. We had a fabulous Christmas. . . More on that later! I had my wisdom teeth out today and other than passing out twice after getting home I have been doing ok. Very little swelling but do have some pain. It has been tolerable though. Thanks for your prayers. I was nervous about sedation but thanks to our great God, I did well. Praises to Him! Okay I'm off to rest and hang out with my sisters who are babysitting me while hubs is out. He has been a wonderful help today and has taken good care of me!

It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas!

Life has been busy and full of Christmas shopping! I have been fortunate enough to had the past few days off. It snowed on Thursday and Friday so our school system was closed! Our Christmas break was scheduled to begin on Friday after school so we got lucky and received two extra days off due to inclement weather! =) I am both happy and a little sad about this. I didn't get to give the kids their Christmas presents and we didn't get to have our class party. Trying to have a holiday party when they come back to school in January will not be as fun!
In other news, I've finished my Christmas shopping (thankfully) and have been taking it easy the past few days because I have a sinus infection (yuck). I am taking an antibiotic though and am feeling a little better today. I'll recap the year as we get closer to January as well as post my new resolutions for the upcoming year. These next few days will be filled with wrapping gifts, spending time with family, eating yummy food, and watching Christmas movies! Well I'm off to get some soup started in the crockpot! Prayers for my surgery (wisdom teeth removal) next week are appreciated! I will be bringing in the new year looking like a chipmunk! In case I don't get another post in before Christmas, I wish all of you a Merry Christmas filled with joy, love, laughter, friends, and family!!!!

Just Call Me Alexander

Because I've had a terrible, horrible, no good, very bad... WEEK.
Hubs and I decided we would both stop for gas on our way to work today. When I got to the gas station I pulled up to a pump, parked the car, and turned it off.... sounds like the right thing to do? Wrong. The pump was out of order and my.car.would.not.turn.back.on. It was below 20 degrees this morning, I had decided to wear my hair curly so it was still a little wet, another bad decision. I sat in my car, shivering, and called my dad (bless his sweet heart, he always rescues me) and he had to get up and come get me at the gas station. I had to then take him back to his house so he could get his truck and I took my sister's car to work. He then spent the remainder of the morning replacing the battery in my car. Another chunk of change down the drain at Christmas time... lovely. Thankfully I made it to work before the tardy bell rang (weird coincidence) and was greeted with the smiles of my sweet second graders which made the start to my day a little less awful. =) It has been that kind of week. Lots of things going wrong +  getting to bed late almost every night this week = Cranky Christina. **Update: To top off this post.... I went to the ATM tonight and then I drove a few miles down the road to a gas station to fill up (since I didn't get to this morning) and I realized I didn't have my debit card. You know, the one I just used at the ATM.... So I rush back to the bank and am frantically remaining calm trying to look for the card... in my purse, in my wallet, under my seat, and in the parking lot. Luckily I find it in the gravel by the bushes near the ATM. Apparently it flew out of my hand when I was counting my money. This is sooooo unlike me. I am very careful/cautious about important things like oh, you know, a debit card! Tonight I didn't even think or check to make sure I had it before pulling off. Geezy peezy. I'm going to bed and rolling over hubs to get out of bed on his side in the a.m. Apparently my side is the wrong side this week!
I am so desperately waiting for Dec. 17 so that I can have 2 glorious weeks off to relax! Hope your week has been better than mine! Tomorrow is a new day!

"Hear, O Lord, and be merciful to me; O Lord, be my help. You turned my wailing into dancing; you removed my sackcloth and clothed me with joy, that my heart may sing to you and not be silent. O Lord my God, I will give you thanks forever." Psalm 30:10-12

Random Thoughts

1. My new goals are to pray more, do something active three times a week, double my water intake, and find a great vitamin to take.
2. Two weeks of teaching followed by two weeks off.... yippppeeeee!
3. My new favorite snack (that is not terribly bad for you and satisfies the sweet tooth)--- Cookie Crisp Cereal. I take it to work and eat it as a snack without milk.
4. It snowed this weekend... just a dusting... and it was beautiful.
5. Christmas shopping is getting closer to being finished.
6. I've come to the conclusion that I think to much about things... I analyze things, worry about stuff I can't control, and am extremely cautious. I'm starting to hate that about myself.... (more on that in the next post).
7. Hubs' basketball team won their game last night! (For those of you who don't know, he coaches a boys JV team).
Just a few random thoughts! Have a great week friends!
