Lots of Updates!

So I'm going to pretend that it hasn't been almost two weeks since I've blogged and just skip right to the updates (in my defense, I have been keeping up with your blogs!). So we have really been looking hard for a house. The tax credit runs out in 30 days. You have to  have a contract on a home by April 30th. I've been slightly stressed. Mostly because I have set my standards WAY too high. We think we may have found "the one" and are going to talk in depth about putting a contract on it. It's a really cute house, big front porch, huge, huge, huge deck with an above ground pool (we weren't really looking for or wanting a pool but hey, it's there and it's got a big beautiful private deck and yard to go with it!). The house is pretty nice inside. It's not huge but it's the perfect size for us. It has everything that was on our list of things to find in a home (for the most part). So I'll keep you posted on that!

In other news, tomorrow is the career fair at our elementary school. It's a fun day with lots of food and visitors. Hubs is on spring break tomorrow and Friday, my break is Friday and Monday. Yay. =) We are going to Richmond on Saturday for a softball tournament.... oh yeah... I should mention that at the last softball tournament two weeks ago, my husband got kneed in the face sliding into second base and we had to sit in the emergency room for 3.5 hours. He had a mild concussion. So I'm hoping and praying for safety this weekend! Other news, hmmm, oh yeah, we got a new bedroom suite and I loooove it but I can't get the wood/factory smell out of it. I've tried Murphy's Oil, any suggestions?

Have a wonderful weekend (I know it's Wednesday but tomorrow is my Friday!).

Happy Friday!

Do I start every post off with "This has been such a busy week!" ?? It has been. Haha. I've cleaned and organized my classroom, graded papers, started working on report cards, and looked at another house.
We've reached that point, the point where we all want summer. All of the teachers and students have spring/summer fever this week. The weather has been beautiful! Saturday the temps are supposed to be in the 70's! I can't wait... hubs has a softball tournament so I'm hoping to turn bright red tan in the sunshine and enjoy time catching up with the other softball wives. To update you on our home buying search... we are still looking. We haven't found exactly what we want yet, and we may not, in which case we will settle, a little.
On another note, a snack recommendation.... Tostitos Restaurant Style Salsa. Oh yum. I've devoured two jars in the past 5 days!! =) Happy almost Friday!

Sunshine in sight!

Life is crazy right now. We are in full swing with our house hunt because we have one and a half months to put a contract on a house if we want to get the $8000 tax credit! We have looked at 16 different houses. SIXTEEN. Ugh. I'm sick of it. Every house is missing something that we need. We are going back to look at our favorites of the 16 and are going to narrow our choice down! Say a few prayers for our sanity. =)
School is busy too. It's the end of the six weeks so it's time for averaging grades, report cards, and preparing for the last two six weeks of school! 12 weeks until summer! Bring on June 8th. =)
I'm so grateful for warmer weather. We had recess outside in the beautiful sunshine last week (minus Friday). It was heavenly! It's done nothing but rain, rain, rain for the past few days and parts of our county are experiencing flooding. But tomorrow promises an end to the rain and sunshine + 60 degree weather for the rest of the week! Yay!
Today I will be busy cleaning, organizing, doing laundry, getting groceries, going to book club, and writing a grant! Have a blessed day. =)

Casting our cares away....

My Saturday: 50 degree weather, clear blue skies, tall mountains, a rushing river, my love, and fishing pole in hand. Hubs and I enjoyed a day of soaking up the sun and fishing. I couldn't have asked for a more relaxing Saturday! It was a much needed trip.

Today will consist of grading papers, working on a grant, Bible study, and a meeting our realtor for a second showing of the house I mentioned in the previous post. Hope everyone had a blessed weekend!

Ready for Spring

I am so thankful tomorrow is Friday. This week has been exhausting. Kids are going stir crazy. The weather is getting a little bit warmer and they are itching to go outside. We still have a little snow left on the ground and it's not quite time for spring. We are looking at the 40's and 50's for the next week. Warmer weather! March is the hardest month of the school year for so many reasons. Is it too early to say, bring on April?! =)

In other news, we looked at four houses today. We liked two of them. The one we liked the most is a little higher than our price range so it would involve some negotiations. Say a few prayers! We are going back to look at it again on Sunday and if we still feel the same way about it we are going to put in an offer. I'm tired of this whole process. Everyone thinks it should be fun and exciting to buy a house but it's actually kind of stressful. We'll keep you all updated!

Thanks for the birthday wishes. Hubs and I both had wonderful birthdays. Hope you all enjoy your weekend!
